Frequently asked questions
Can I opt out of the cooperative after joining?
Yes, members have the right to withdraw their membership from the cooperative at any time. However, this must be done in accordance with the society’s established procedures. Before exiting, members are required to settle any outstanding loans or obligations. Upon successful clearance, your contributions will be reconciled and refunded where applicable. The exit process is designed to protect both the cooperative’s sustainability and the individual member’s interest.
How much is deducted monthly?
Monthly deductions vary based on the contribution category you select during your registration. Members typically choose from available tiers of contributions depending on their financial capacity. These deductions are automatically processed through payroll and are recorded in your cooperative account. The cooperative ensures transparency by providing periodic statements and allowing you to track your savings and financial benefits over time.
Can I apply for a loan immediately after joining?
While we welcome new members warmly, there is a short waiting period before a member becomes eligible to access loans. This period is necessary to ensure the cooperative has received a minimum level of contribution and to establish the member’s financial commitment. Once this requirement is met, members can apply for various loan types with terms designed to support both personal and professional needs.
How is the cooperative managed?
The NSCDC Cooperative Society is governed democratically by elected officers drawn from the membership base. These individuals serve in leadership roles such as President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Committee Heads. The cooperative operates under a strict set of bye-laws and financial guidelines to ensure accountability. Regular general meetings are held where members receive financial reports, vote on key decisions, and provide input on the society’s direction. External audits are also conducted to maintain credibility and trust.
